Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC)
UPTAC is not an entrance exam. It is the AKTU-run online counselling that allots B.Tech and other technical seats in Uttar Pradesh, using JEE Main ranks for engineering (UPSEE no longer exists). This hub covers the dates, fees, eligibility, rounds and documents.

- Online counselling (online registration, choice filling and reporting, with physical document verification at the allotted institute)
- Frequency
- Once a year (4 regular rounds, an internal sliding round and special rounds)
- Duration
- About 3.5 months from registration to the last special round (25 May to early September in 2026)

UPTAC counselling is the core of the process and is run entirely online by AKTU.

Registration and verification
25 May to 30 June 2026, with verification through early July.

Choice filling
Up to a list of institute-branch choices, locked before the deadline.

Allotment
Rounds 1 to 3 followed by auto-freeze Round 4.

Freeze or float
Freeze to secure the seat; float to try for an upgrade.

Seat fee
Pay the seat acceptance fee online.

Reporting
Physical verification at the institute.
Fees

Key rules
- Floating candidates can upgrade, never downgrade.
- Missing the fee deadline cancels the allotment.
- No new registration in Rounds 2 to 4.
- Special round allotments are non-refundable.
