About Assam CEE
The Combined Entrance Examination is the state-level B.Tech entrance test held by Assam Science and Technology University for admission to four-year engineering programmes in Assam. It is meant for Class 12 science students, mainly permanent residents of Assam, and the paper follows the Assam Higher Secondary syllabus in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ASTU only conducts the exam; seats in government engineering colleges such as Assam Engineering College and Jorhat Engineering College are allotted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, through separate counselling. CEE 2026 was held on 14 June 2026. The 2027 notification has not been announced.

What Assam CEE is
The Combined Entrance Examination is held by Assam Science and Technology University, a state university of the Government of Assam. The CEE 2026 brochure says it is for admission to four-year B.Tech programmes in the State of Assam for the 2026-27 session, and that the paper follows the syllabus of the Assam State School Education Board, Division II (Higher Secondary).
The brochure is explicit that ASTU will not conduct counselling. Counselling is run by the State Council for Technical Education, Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assam, which publishes its own Counselling Guidelines each year on dte.assam.gov.in.

What is the application fee?
Rs 1,500 for CEE 2026, paid online and not refundable, as per the ASTU brochure.
What are the eligibility marks?
At least 45% in the qualifying exam, or 40% for reserved categories, along with being a permanent resident of Assam.
Is there an age limit?
The 2026 brochure requires a minimum age of 17 on 31 December 2026 and states no upper age limit. Some websites quote an upper age limit; the brochure does not.
Does ASTU conduct counselling?
No. The brochure states ASTU only conducts the examination. DTE Assam conducts counselling.
Is Assam CEE for pharmacy too?
The CEE 2026 brochure covers B.Tech admission only.
How is the rank decided and what are the tie-breakers?
On total marks. Ties go to higher Mathematics marks, then Physics, then Chemistry, then date of birth, then alphabetical order.
Can I challenge the answer key?
Yes, online within 48 hours of the link opening at Rs 500 per question, refunded if the challenge is accepted.
Is the Assam CEE 2027 date out?
No. ASTU has not announced it. Expect the notification around March 2027 and the exam around June, based on 2026.
Is IIT Guwahati part of Assam CEE?
No. IIT Guwahati admits through JEE Advanced and JoSAA.
