Engineering Exam Calendar 2026
All major engineering entrance exams - national, state & university level - with registration deadlines, exam dates, results and counselling schedule.
Why Tracking the Full Exam Calendar Matters
Engineering admissions in India run across dozens of overlapping national, state, and university-level entrance exams, and their schedules rarely align neatly with each other. A candidate preparing for JEE Main, for example, often also needs to track BITSAT, VITEEE, or a relevant state CET as backup options, since exam dates, application deadlines, and result timelines vary significantly across conducting bodies — NTA for JEE Main, individual state boards for exams like MHT CET or KCET, and private universities for their own entrance tests like VITEEE or SRMJEEE. Missing a registration window for even one exam can materially narrow a student's options later in the admission cycle, which is why keeping a consolidated calendar across every relevant exam — rather than tracking JEE Main in isolation — is a practical necessity for most serious engineering aspirants.
This calendar consolidates confirmed and expected dates for the 2026 admission cycle across national exams (JEE Main, JEE Advanced), university-conducted exams (BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE, KIITEE, MET), and state-level exams (WBJEE, MHT CET, KCET, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, GUJCET, COMEDK), along with the centralized counselling processes — JoSAA, CSAB, and DASA — that follow exam results. Because individual conducting bodies periodically revise dates due to administrative or logistical reasons, always cross-check time-sensitive deadlines directly on the official exam website (linked in each card below) before finalizing your own preparation, application, or travel plans for the season.

National, University, and State-Level Exams — What's the Difference?
The three exam categories tracked on this page differ in scope, conducting authority, and the colleges they lead to. National-level exams — JEE Main and JEE Advanced — are conducted by the NTA and IIT Roorkee (on behalf of the Joint Admission Board) respectively, and their results feed directly into JoSAA and CSAB counselling for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs across the entire country, making them relevant to virtually every serious engineering aspirant regardless of home state. University-level exams, such as BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE, KIITEE, and MET, are conducted independently by their respective private universities and lead exclusively to admission within that specific university's own campuses — they don't feed into any centralized counselling system, and each has its own separate application, exam, and counselling process entirely outside JoSAA or CSAB, worth noting for planning purposes.
State-level exams — WBJEE, MHT CET, KCET, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, COMEDK, and GUJCET among others — are conducted by individual state governments or state examination authorities and primarily govern admission to government and private engineering colleges within that state, generally with reservation for home-state candidates. Many students appear for a combination of all three types since eligibility for one doesn't preclude appearing for others (with some exceptions around clashing exam dates), and having options across national, university, and state processes provides meaningful flexibility if a candidate's JEE Main outcome doesn't align with their expectations. Checking this calendar regularly across the admission season helps avoid the common mistake of discovering a registration deadline has already passed.
