How to Use the JEE College Predictor 2026

This JoSAA college predictor — also called the JEE mains college predictor or jee college predictor 2026 — covers all 134 institutes under JoSAA counselling 2026: 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 54 GFTIs. It also runs CSAB counselling 2026 predictions simultaneously. Use it immediately after JEE Main result as a JEE main result college predictor, or after JEE Advanced result for combined IIT, NIT, IIIT, and GFTI predictions.

  1. 1

Enter Your JEE Rank — Works as a JEE Rank Predictor Too

Enter your JEE Main AIR rank as declared in the JEE Main 2026 result. This JEE rank predictor and JEE main rank college predictor matches your rank against JoSAA opening and closing ranks across all six counselling rounds. Use it right after the JEE Main result is declared — as a jee main result college predictor — to instantly know which college you can get with your JEE rank.

  2. 2

Select Category, Home State, and Gender

NITs follow a 50% Home State (HS) and 50% Other State (OS) quota — your home state significantly lowers your effective cutoff at NITs in your state. Select your category (General, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, or PwD) to activate category-wise reserved seat predictions across all JoSAA institutes. Gender selection enables female supernumerary seat predictions at NITs and IIITs.

  3. 3

Add JEE Advanced CRL Rank for IIT Predictions (Optional)

If you qualified JEE Advanced 2026, enable the IIT predictor by checking the JEE Advanced option and entering your CRL rank. This unified jee college predictor 2026 combines both predictors — IITs through JEE Advanced rank and NITs, IIITs, GFTIs through JEE Main rank — giving you a complete JoSAA counselling 2026 college list in one result.

  4. 4

Shortlist Colleges and Prepare for JoSAA and CSAB Counselling 2026

The predictor labels each college-branch as Certain, Likely, Possible, or Unlikely based on JoSAA 2025 cutoff data. It also runs CSAB counselling 2026 predictions in parallel for your saved profile. Use the results to shortlist safe, moderate, and ambitious choices before filling your JoSAA choice list, and revisit after CSAB rounds open for additional NIT and IIIT options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the JEE College Predictor 2026

1
How accurate is the JEE College Predictor 2026?
Our predictor uses actual JoSAA cutoff data from 2023–2025, including opening and closing ranks. The algorithm considers your rank, category, home state, and gender. Predictions are based on real historical data - actual cutoffs may vary each year based on exam difficulty and student preferences.
2
What is the difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced predictor?
JEE Main predictor is for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs participating through JoSAA. JEE Advanced predictor is for IITs only. If you have both ranks, you can use both predictors to see your full range of options.
3
Why do I need to enter a category rank separately?
For reserved categories (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST), JoSAA uses the category-specific rank to fill reserved seats. Your AIR (All India Rank) is used for OPEN seats. Entering both gives you the most accurate combined prediction.
4
How does home state affect NIT admissions?
Each NIT reserves 50% seats for home state candidates (HS quota) and 50% for other states (OS quota). Home state cutoffs are generally more lenient. For example, if you're from Maharashtra, you'll have a significant advantage at NIT Nagpur.
5
What are the chance labels - Certain, Likely, Possible, Unlikely?
Certain means your rank is better than the 2025 opening rank. Likely means your rank falls within the opening–closing range. Possible means your rank is within 15% above the closing rank. Unlikely means your rank is significantly above the closing rank.
6
When should I use the college predictor?
Use it immediately after knowing your rank. It helps you shortlist colleges before JoSAA choice filling. Knowing your realistic options lets you fill choices strategically - safe picks at the top, ambitious ones below.
