About SRMJEEE

SRMJEEE is the entrance test SRM Institute of Science and Technology uses to admit students to its B.Tech programmes. It is a remote proctored online test with no negative marking, and it is separate from JEE Main and other national exams. It suits students who want an SRM campus seat and can use more than one attempt, because the 2026 edition ran in three phases, each with its own application and counselling. A good score leads to B.Tech branch allotment through SRM counselling. SRM has not announced the 2027 schedule, so the dates shown here are expectations based on the earlier cycle.

What SRMJEEE is

SRMJEEE is the entrance test of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) for its undergraduate engineering programmes. Admission is based on the SRMJEEE rank together with the qualifying examination, and candidates pick their campus, programme and specialisation at counselling.

NRI, PIO and OCI candidates do not use the regular application. SRM asks them to apply through a separate international student application form.

Why the multi-phase format matters

The 2026 cycle had three phases. According to SRM's 2026 FAQs, candidates may apply for Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 or all of them. Each phase needs its own application and its own fee, and counselling is held separately for every phase.

This lets a student try again if a phase goes badly, but it also means the seats available shrink in later phases. SRM's page itself notes that Phase 3 seat allotment may change depending on seat availability across campuses.

How admission works

  1. 1

    Apply for a phase

Register, verify your email, fill the form, upload photo and signature and pay the fee.

  2. 2

Book a slot and take the test

Slot booking opens a couple of days before each phase, after which the hall ticket can be downloaded.

  3. 3

Check rank and register for counselling

Ranks are published on the SRM admission portal and counselling follows for that phase.

  4. 4

Choose campus and branch, then pay

Seat allotment depends on rank and availability. Pay the counselling fee in time to receive the Provisional Allotment Letter.

Frequently asked questions

Is SRMJEEE the same as JEE Main?

No. SRMJEEE is SRM's own university entrance test. SRM's FAQ says JEE Main or SAT scores are considered for B.Tech international admission, not for the regular Indian application route.

Can I choose my branch while applying?

Not finally. SRM states that the course and campus preference given in the application is only for statistical purposes. The real choice is made at counselling based on rank and seat availability.

Do I have to appear in all phases?

No. SRM's FAQ says appearing in all phases is not mandatory. You can apply for any one phase or for several.

How many questions are in SRMJEEE 2026?

130 questions: Physics 35, Chemistry 35, Mathematics or Biology 40, English and Aptitude 20, for 130 marks.

Is there negative marking?

No.

How many phases are there?

Three in 2026 (April, June, July). Appearing in all is optional.

What is the application fee?

₹1,400 per phase, non-refundable, as per SRM's 2026 FAQ.

Can I take the exam at home?

Yes. It is a remote proctored online test on a desktop or laptop with webcam. Mobile phones are not allowed.

What are the eligibility marks?

Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and one more allowed subject at Class 12.

Is there an age limit?

SRM requires 16 years 6 months by 31 July of the Class 12 year and no more than a 3 year gap after Class 12.

Do NRIs apply the same way?

No. NRI, PIO and OCI candidates use the international application form.

When does counselling happen?

After each phase result. Counselling is online and separate for each phase.

How much do I pay to confirm a seat?

Reported as ₹1,10,000 in 2026 (₹10,000 registration plus ₹1,00,000 counselling fee). Verify on the portal.
