SRMJEEE 2027 Preparation
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official SRM Institute of Science and Technology notices
SRMJEEE rewards speed and accuracy because there is no negative marking and 130 questions in 150 minutes.
Strategy
- Aim for about one minute per question, spending slightly longer on Maths.
- Attempt every question since wrong answers cost nothing.
- Finish the English and Aptitude 20 questions quickly; they are the cheapest marks.
- Take the official mock test early to learn the proctored interface.
Subject tips
- Physics: master formulas for electricity, optics and modern physics; many questions are direct.
- Chemistry: Class 12 organic and electrochemistry carry weight; revise coordination compounds.
- Mathematics: calculus, matrices and vectors; practise quick calculation.
- Biology stream: NCERT line-by-line reading for the 40 biology questions.
Suggested plan for 2027
| Period | Focus |
|---|---|
| Oct-Dec 2026 | Finish Class 12 syllabus, make formula notes |
| Jan-Feb 2027 | Topic tests, start timed practice |
| Mar 2027 | Full mock tests, English and Aptitude drills |
| Apr 2027 | Final revision before the first phase; use later phases only if needed |
Mistakes to avoid
- Ignoring the system check for the remote proctored test.
- Waiting for the last date to apply.
- Assuming a branch preference at application is final.
Frequently asked questions
Is a coaching class needed?
Not necessarily. Strong Class 11 and 12 basics plus mock tests are usually enough for a 130-question objective paper.
