What V-SAT is
V-SAT stands for Vignan's Scholastic Aptitude Test. According to the university admissions page, the exam is an online test held on an all-India basis, and its pattern is modelled on JEE Main and EAMCET. Sample papers are offered for download on the university website.
Vignan admits students on the V-SAT written test, on AP/TS EAMCET, on JEE Main or JEE Advanced, and on Intermediate marks. A candidate does not have to take V-SAT if they hold a qualifying EAMCET or JEE score, but the university states that preference for scholarship seats goes to candidates who qualify in V-SAT of that year.
Programmes covered
- B.Tech (with a separate lateral entry stream)
- B.Pharmacy
- B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture

V-SAT scholarships in brief
Per the 2026-27 fee and scholarship page on vignan.ac.in, the university reserves 25% of seats in each programme for scholarships: 5% of seats carry 100% and 75% scholarships, 10% carry 50% and 10% carry 25%. For a programme of 60 seats this works out to 3, 6 and 6 seats. A minimum of 80% in the qualifying exam is required to claim a scholarship. Allotment depends on merit, seat availability and first come, first served.
The scholarship runs for four years if the student keeps at least 7.0 CGPA in the preceding year with no backlogs. The V-SAT page on vignan.ac.in also carried a banner for a Rs 16 crore scholarship test (from the 2024-25 cycle).
Which route should you pick
Students who already have a good JEE Main or EAMCET rank can use that score directly. V-SAT is useful for students who want a quick, home-based online test and a scholarship offer from Vignan, since the test is taken on dates of your choice in a long window.
