About IPU CET
IPU CET is the group of entrance tests conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, for many of its programmes. Engineers should note that regular B.Tech seats are filled on JEE Main rank through the university's counselling, and the CET matters mainly for B.Tech Biotechnology and for lateral entry. It suits candidates aiming at GGSIPU affiliated and university colleges in Delhi. The 2026 CETs ran from 25 April to 23 May 2026. The 2027 information bulletin is not out yet, so dates and subjects are unconfirmed.

What IPU CET covers
The university announces a CET schedule each spring with different papers for different programmes. In 2026 the schedule ran over nine days from 25 April to 23 May and included B.Tech Biotechnology, lateral entry B.Tech, BBA, BCA, MBA, B.Pharm, LLB, B.Ed and many postgraduate and PhD papers.
Regular B.Tech (programme code 131) does not use a CET. Seats are filled on JEE Main All India Rank through the GGSIPU online counselling on ipu.admissions.nic.in. Per the GGSIPU Admission Brochure 2026-27, vacant seats are filled on CUET UG merit only after the JEE Main (NLT) merit list is exhausted, and a candidate who already holds an admitted seat through the NLT or CET cannot take another seat on CUET merit.
If you are a JEE Main candidate
You do not need to write IPU CET for regular B.Tech. You need a valid JEE Main score and a registration in the GGSIPU counselling portal.
