What SUAT is
The Sharda University Admission Test is run by the university itself for its own programmes. Sharda describes it as a national entrance and scholarship test: for some programmes it forms the basis of eligibility, and for most programmes it feeds the scholarship decision. It has separate papers for different disciplines, such as engineering (PCM), non-PCM undergraduate, bio undergraduate and postgraduate.
SUAT is not a government or national counselling exam. It carries no all-India rank, and the score is not accepted by other colleges. Do not confuse it with SUSAT, the separate Sharda University Scholastic Aptitude Test, which the university describes as a scholarship-focused test.
Two routes into B.Tech at Sharda
As given on the Sharda B.Tech admission page for 2026, a candidate can qualify either through the SUAT online test followed by a personal interview, or through a JEE rank up to 3 lakh. The SUAT overview page states the same exemption: an engineering candidate with a JEE Main rank below 3,00,000 (or a UPSEE rank below 50,000, as listed there) does not need to take SUAT.
Qualifying SUAT is not the only criterion. Sharda states that the personal interview plays a significant role in selection, so a good test score alone does not guarantee a seat.
No fixed exam date
Candidates book their own date and slot after paying the application fee. Always read the current slot booking page on suat.sharda.ac.in instead of relying on dates quoted by coaching websites, which often disagree with each other.
Where SUAT fits in the bigger picture
- Sharda is a private university, so admission is not through JoSAA, CSAB or UPTAC seat allotment.
- Merit scholarships depend on SUAT performance, the personal interview and marks in the qualifying exam, as well as JEE rank where applicable.
