What AP EAPCET is

AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) is the common entrance test of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). It was called AP EAMCET until 2020; the name changed in 2021 once medical admissions moved fully to NEET UG.

APSCHE hands the conduct of the test to a university each year. JNTU Kakinada was the convening university for the 2026 cycle. Follow the 2027 notification for the convener of the next cycle.

Why it matters

The AP EAPCET rank is the key to convener-quota (category A) seats in government, university and private unaided engineering colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Roughly 70 percent of seats in private unaided colleges are filled through this rank, and the rest by management quota under the state rules.

Seats are split between local and non-local candidates under the Andhra Pradesh reservation order (G.O.Ms.No. 20 dated 12 May 2025, listed on the official 2026 page: 85 percent of seats reserved for local candidates and 15 percent unreserved for local and non-local candidates). The order is notified each year.
