About UPCET
UPCET is a name many students still search for, but it is not a live exam. AKTU, which earlier conducted UPSEE, did not hold a separate UPCET or UPSEE entrance test for 2026. Admission to Uttar Pradesh technical courses now uses national scores: per the UPTAC 2026-27 brochure, JEE Main for B.Tech and CUET UG for B.Pharm in main counselling, and CUET PG for MBA and MCA, with seats allotted by AKTU through UPTAC counselling. This page is useful for students who want to know which exam to prepare for and where counselling details sit. For 2027, the route is expected to follow national exam scores and UPTAC, but no schedule is announced.

Is there a UPCET exam?
AKTU used to hold UPSEE, the state engineering entrance exam, and many sites now call the UP admission process UPCET. The AKTU notification dated 24 April 2026 and the UPTAC 2026-27 information brochure list no separate entrance exam: admission is on JEE Main, NATA, UCEED, CUET UG and CUET PG scores, with Class 12 marks as a fallback in special rounds. A few aggregator pages still show UPCET dates; those look like outdated generic content and no official notice backs them.
Existing pages on this site, such as the UPCET college predictor, use the same understanding: UPCET is the old or popular name, and the live process is UPTAC counselling run by AKTU.
Looking for B.Tech details?
Dates, fees, rounds, documents and eligibility for UP B.Tech counselling are covered in the UPTAC hub. This page does not repeat them.
