UPCET: the search name for Uttar Pradesh technical admissions through AKTU (no separate entrance test in 2026)
UPCET is a name people still search for, but AKTU did not hold a separate UPCET or UPSEE entrance test for 2026. This page explains what replaced it and where to go. B.Tech counselling details sit on our UPTAC hub.

UPCET 2027 Eligibility

Eligibility is set by the course and by UPTAC rules for the year.
Indicative conditions
- B.Pharm: Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry plus Mathematics or Biology; 45 percent in the brochure for most programmes (40 percent for SC and ST). Check Table-II of the brochure for the exact subjects.
- B.Tech: Class 12 PCM and a valid JEE Main rank; follow the UPTAC information brochure for marks and domicile rules.
- MBA / MCA: graduation as per AKTU rules and a CUET PG score.
Marks, score and age (UPTAC 2026-27 brochure)
- B.Tech: pass in Class 12 with at least 45 percent (40 percent for SC and ST) in the required subjects taken together (AICTE handbook 8.4 list), or a D.Voc. pass in the same or allied sector.
- Main B.Tech rounds use JEE Main 2026. Special rounds accept JEE Main, then CUET UG 2026, then Class 12 marks. Select AKTU on the CUET form if you plan the CUET route.
- The brochure states there is no age limit for admission to the courses covered.
Domicile and quota
The brochure says government and aided institutes fill 100 percent of first-year seats through counselling, while private colleges fill 85 percent through counselling and 15 percent through management or NRI quota. Domicile and reservation rules are in the brochure; read them for the exact eligibility of out-of-state candidates.
