HSTES runs admissions to engineering, technology and architecture courses in Haryana. This page uses the 2026-27 admission brochure as the reference for the 2027 cycle.

About HSTES

HSTES, the Haryana State Technical Education Society, runs the centralised admission process for B.E. and B.Tech seats in Haryana engineering institutes. There is no separate state entrance test, so students must appear in JEE Main, and merit is prepared from the JEE Main rank. Seats are filled through two online counselling rounds, after which institutes fill remaining seats at institute level. It suits Haryana candidates and others eligible under the state quota rules. The 2026-27 brochure was released from 1 May 2026, while the 2027-28 brochure has not been published yet.

Is there an HSTES exam?

No. HSTES does not conduct an entrance test. The 2026-27 brochure says admission to B.E./B.Tech, including TFW, EWS, Kashmiri Migrant and Haryana Government School Topper categories, is made on the inter-se merit of JEE Main 2026 through two online off-campus counselling rounds on techadmissionshry.gov.in. Ties in the JEE Main common rank are broken by the NTA method and then by age and name.

Because there is no separate paper, this site has no pattern or syllabus tab for HSTES. The test you must prepare for is JEE Main.
