What JoSAA is

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority runs one common online seat allocation for the first year of engineering, architecture and planning programmes at the IITs and at the NIT+ system, which means NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs and other GFTIs. IITs fill seats on JEE Advanced ranks. All other participating institutes fill seats on JEE Main ranks. The joint process started in 2015-16 under a memorandum between the Joint Admission Board of the IITs and the Central Seat Allocation Board.

Candidates register once, fill one ordered list of choices, and the system allots the best available choice for their rank, category and quota in each round.

Why there is no pattern, syllabus or admit card tab

JoSAA does not conduct any examination. Your eligibility comes from JEE Main and JEE Advanced, whose pattern, syllabus and admit cards are covered on their own exam pages. At JoSAA you only need your JEE roll number and the documents listed in the application tab. For that reason this hub covers dates, application, eligibility, results, cutoffs, counselling and preparation, but not exam pattern, syllabus or admit card.
