About MP DTE
MP DTE is the Directorate of Technical Education of Madhya Pradesh, which runs centralised online counselling for B.E./B.Tech and other technical courses in the state. There is no separate entrance exam: one track ranks candidates on JEE Main and another on Class 12 marks. It suits Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates and others eligible for seats in government, autonomous and private colleges such as MITS Gwalior, SGSITS Indore and JEC Jabalpur. Counselling covers registration, choice filling and seat allotment in rounds, followed by college-level rounds. The 2027 schedule has not been announced; the 2026 first round ran in June and July 2026.

What MP DTE counselling is
The Directorate of Technical Education of Madhya Pradesh conducts online counselling for B.E./B.Tech seats in the state. Candidates register on dte.mponline.gov.in, fill choices of college and branch, and are allotted seats on the merit list.
There is no MP entrance test for engineering. The old state exam was discontinued and the process now uses national or board scores.
Two merit tracks
- JEE Main track: merit from JEE Main rank, with two main rounds.
- Class 12 track: merit from marks in Physics, Mathematics and one more subject, with one main round.
- After the main rounds, vacant seats are filled by college-level counselling (CLC).

Two centralised rounds in 2026 (with an upgradation step after Round 1 and an internal branch change after Round 2), then college-level counselling phases.
Is there an age limit?
The 2026 rule book states none for B.E./B.Tech.
