MP DTE 2027 Eligibility
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Directorate of Technical Education notices
Eligibility for B.E./B.Tech counselling per the 2026 rule book.
Academic criteria
Pass in Class 12 from the MP Board or another recognised board with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies or Entrepreneurship, in the three-subject combination required by Table 1 of the rule book. Minimum marks in those three subjects are 45 percent, or 40 percent for MP-domicile SC, ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates. Agriculture engineering also accepts the Agriculture stream.
The rule book states no age limit for B.E./B.Tech.
Domicile and nationality
- Indian nationals are eligible.
- Bonafide MP residents get MP-domicile seats and reservation benefits.
- Out-of-state candidates can take part for seats open to them; the rules are in the rule book.
- In government, autonomous and grant-in-aid institutes, 5 percent of seats are NRI seats (where approved) and 5 percent are All India seats; the rest are for MP domicile candidates. In private institutes, 5 percent are NRI and 10 percent are Institutional Preference Seats (IPS), and the remaining general pool follows the reservation rules. Unfilled NRI and All India seats convert to MP-domicile seats.
Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) eligibility
- Per the rule book, candidates whose parents' annual income is not more than Rs 8 lakh are eligible; the waiver covers only the tuition fee fixed by the AFRC and other fees are paid by the candidate.
- Choose Yes for TFW at registration and upload a valid income certificate.
- TFW seats are 5 percent supernumerary seats per course in AICTE institutes where at least 50 percent of last year's intake was admitted.
Subjects in the rule book
The 2026 rule book lists the allowed Class 12 subjects and says the three required subjects follow Table 1 of the rule book, with equivalence of subjects also considered. Third-party pages that say Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are all compulsory are simplifying; read Table 1 for your branch.
Entrance score
The rule book says B.E./B.Tech admission is on JEE Main 2026 All India Rank (candidates need a positive composite score). If seats remain after the first round, the second round may use the entrance rank and/or Class 12 marks. Reservation: SC 16, ST 20 and OBC 14 percent; horizontal reservation for soldiers 5, freedom fighters 3, persons with disability 3 and technical stream 1 percent (student guidelines).
