VSAT 2027 Eligibility

Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research notices

Eligibility statements differ between the university page and secondary sources. The official notification of the cycle you apply for is final.

Academic qualification

The university admissions page says candidates who passed Intermediate or an equivalent exam with at least 60% aggregate can appear for the test. Candidates who qualified in AP or TS EAMCET, JEE Main or JEE Advanced are also eligible for admission, again with at least 60% aggregate in +2 or Intermediate.

Careers360 adds that for the EAMCET route, the listed thresholds are a B2 grade or 7.0 CGPA in Andhra Pradesh and above 60% in the Telangana +2 exam. Other aggregator sites quote 45% for B.E. or B.Tech, which conflicts with the university statement. Take 60% as the safer figure until the notification says otherwise.

Age limit

  • The university page shows a rule of candidates born on or after 1 July 2005. This came from an older cycle and should not be applied to 2027 without checking.
  • Careers360 reports born on or after 1 July 2003 for the 2026 listing. The two sources differ, so check the latest notification.

Who can apply

  • Students who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board.
  • Students appearing in Class 12, as reported by Careers360.
  • NRI, PIO and OCI candidates, as reported by Careers360.
  • Subject requirement depends on programme: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for B.Tech; Biology is accepted as an alternative to Mathematics for pharmacy and agriculture streams, as per the secondary listing.

Verify before you apply
