VSAT 2027 Preparation
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research notices
A short, focused plan works best for a Class 12 level test with no negative marking. The reported 2026 paper is 120 MCQs in 150 minutes across Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English.
Preparation plan
- Download the official sample papers from the Vignan site and take at least three under timed conditions.
- Revise NCERT Class 11 and 12 for Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
- Practise English comprehension and grammar daily for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Since there is no negative marking in the reported pattern, never leave a question blank.
- If you plan to also take JEE Main or EAMCET, use the same preparation to cover V-SAT.
Time management
Aim for about 70 seconds per question. Do the English and the easiest section first to bank marks, then take Maths, which is usually the slowest.
Section-wise plan
- Reported split is 30 questions each in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Aptitude, so each section is worth a quarter of the marks.
- Give English about 25 minutes, Chemistry 35, Physics 40 and Maths 40, leaving 10 minutes to review.
- Take one full mock a week for the last six weeks and track which section loses the most time.
Scholarship and back-up
Vignan reserves 25 percent of seats in each programme for scholarships of 75, 50 and 25 percent tuition waivers, so a higher score has direct fee value. Keep EAMCET (AP and TS), JEE Main and other state counselling as back-up options in case the scholarship or branch is not what you want.
