Registration closed on June 30, 2026 on the new portal uptac.samarth.edu.in. Round 1 choice filling ran July 13–16, 2026, with allotment declared July 18. Round 4 (auto-freeze) was allotted August 3, 2026, with fee payment due by August 7, 2026. Special Round registration opened August 8–9, 2026, for fresh registrations and CUET UG candidates, followed by Special Round 2 whose seat allotment and physical reporting ran September 3–7, 2026. Registration fee: ₹1,000.
What is UPTAC?
UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) is the centralized admission counselling process conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University). It is the gateway to engineering admissions across approximately 600+ colleges affiliated with AKTU in Uttar Pradesh.
UPTAC manages admission to over 2 lakh engineering seats in B.Tech, B.Arch, BHMCT, and other technical programmes. Admissions are entirely based on JEE Main 2026 scores — there is no separate UPTAC entrance examination.

UPTAC 2026 Counselling – Step-by-Step Process
Online Registration & Fee Payment
Register at uptac.samarth.edu.in with JEE Main roll number and APAAR ID (via DigiLocker). Pay the counselling registration fee of ₹1,000 online. (Registration for Rounds 1–4 closed June 30, 2026.)
Document Upload
Upload scanned copies of Class 10/12 marksheets, JEE Main scorecard, ID proof, category certificate, and domicile certificate (for UP candidates).
Choice Filling & Locking
Fill institute-branch preferences. You can add up to 200 choices. Lock choices before the deadline — locked choices cannot be changed.
Seat Allotment Result
Allotment is published on the UPTAC portal. Login to check your allotted college and branch.
Seat Acceptance Fee Payment
Pay the seat acceptance fee online to confirm the allotment. Partial fee to freeze the seat for upgrades; full fee to confirm without upgrade.
Online Reporting / Document Verification
Complete online reporting on the portal. Physical verification at the allotted institute during the admission phase.
Admission at Allotted Institute
Report to the allotted institute with original documents to complete the admission formalities and pay the remaining fees.
