WBJEE 2027 Counselling
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board notices
WBJEE counselling is run online by WBJEEB after the result. Centralised rounds are followed by decentralised counselling and special vacancy rounds.
How counselling works
- 1
Counselling notification
The Board publishes a notification with schedule, fees and rules soon after the result. In 2026 this came at the end of June.
- 2
Registration
Register online with your rank card details, pay the registration fee and fill the personal and category details.
- 3
Choice filling and locking
List institutes and courses in order of preference and lock them before the deadline.
- 4
Seat allotment
Seats are allotted by merit rank, category and choice order. The result is published online.
- 5
Accept the seat and pay fees
Pay the seat acceptance fee within the window to retain the seat.
- 6
Report to the institute
The allotted institute verifies original documents. Wrong or invalid claims can lead to loss of category benefits or the seat.
- 7
Upgradation and later rounds
Candidates can opt for upgradation where offered. Vacancies are then filled in later rounds.
Rounds in the 2026 cycle
Per the Board's schedule, the 2026 centralised counselling had three rounds: registration and choice filling from 30 June to 5 July, Round 1 allotment on 7 July, Round 2 registration from 13 to 17 July with allotment on 21 July, and Round 3 registration from 24 to 26 July with allotment on 28 July. Later, the Board listed decentralised counselling, a pharmacy counselling schedule in August, and special vacancy allocation by upgradation rounds into October 2026. Notices dated 15 October 2026 deal with filling residual UG vacancies.
Round names and dates change each year. Rely on the Board's notices for the exact phases.
Documents usually needed
- WBJEE admit card, rank card and counselling registration confirmation
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates
- Photo ID proof (Aadhaar, passport or voter ID)
- Domicile certificate in the prescribed proforma, where applicable
- SC/ST certificate, OBC-A or OBC-B non-creamy layer certificate, or EWS certificate issued by the West Bengal competent authority

Key rules
- Original documents are needed at the allotted institute. Photos of the screen or phone are not valid documents.
- Category and domicile claims are verified by the institute. If invalid, you are treated as general or non-West Bengal, even after allotment.
- 13 supernumerary seats are reserved for wards of defence personnel, allotted separately on the recommendation of the Rajya Sainik Board. A GMR is mandatory for them.
- JEE Main 2026 scorers can get up to 10 percent of seats in self-financed engineering colleges in West Bengal, subject to eligibility.
- Architecture candidates also need a valid NATA score (or JEE Main Paper 2 at Jadavpur).
Fees not quoted
Counselling registration and seat acceptance fees are published in each year's counselling notification. We did not verify the 2026 amounts, so check the notice before paying.
WBJEE, JENPAS UG and JEHOM
JENPAS UG is a separate WBJEEB test for nursing, paramedical and allied health courses, reported to have been held on 7 June 2026. It has its own bulletin, ranks and counselling. We could not find an official 2026 notice for a test named JEHOM, so confirm with the Board if you are looking at homoeopathy admissions.
