JEE Main 2027 Result
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official National Testing Agency notices
JEE Main results come as NTA scores (percentiles) and an All India Rank. The 2026 process below is from the bulletin and reported results.
How the result is processed
- 1
Provisional answer key
NTA shows the provisional key and your recorded responses on the website for two to three days. Challenges cost a non-refundable ₹200 per question.
- 2
Final key
Subject experts review the challenges and the result is compiled only on the final key. Challenges after the result are not entertained.
- 3
Session result
Raw marks of each shift are converted to a percentile, the NTA score. Session 1 scores are declared first.
- 4
Overall rank
After Session 2, scores of all shifts of both sessions are merged and the All India Rank and category rank are compiled.
How to check the scorecard
Open jeemain.nta.nic.in, click the Score Card link, enter the application number and password or date of birth, and download the PDF. The scorecard carries your name as in the Class 10 certificate. No scorecard is posted. The 2026 bulletin advised keeping copies because the confirmation page, admit card and scorecard would not be available after 31 July 2026.
NTA score and normalisation
Because each shift has a different paper, NTA uses percentile normalisation (Appendix VII of the bulletin). The percentile is: 100 x (number of candidates in the shift with a raw score equal to or lower than yours) / (total candidates who appeared in the shift).
- The topper of every shift gets 100 percentile, and the percentile is calculated up to 7 decimal places to reduce ties.
- The total percentile is calculated from total raw scores. It is not an average of the three subject percentiles.
- Percentile is not the same as percentage of marks.
- If you appear in both sessions, the better of the two total NTA scores is used (the total, not subject by subject).
Tie-breaking
For Paper 1, a tie in total NTA score is resolved in this order, as printed in the 2026 bulletin (chapter 2, item 5).
| Step | Criterion |
|---|---|
| 1 | Higher NTA score in Mathematics |
| 2 | Higher NTA score in Physics |
| 3 | Higher NTA score in Chemistry |
| 4 | Lower proportion of incorrect answers to correct answers across all subjects |
| 5-7 | Same proportion test in Mathematics, then Physics, then Chemistry |
| 8 | If still tied, the same rank is assigned |
Age (date of birth) is not part of the 2026 Paper 1 tie-breaking list, although some websites mention it. Paper 2A and 2B have their own parallel order.
2026 results in brief
- Session 1 result was reported on 16-17 February 2026, with about 13.05 lakh candidates appearing and 12 reported as scoring 100 percentile.
- Session 2 result and overall ranks were declared on 20 April 2026, with 26 reported 100 percentilers.
- 2,50,182 candidates were reported to qualify for JEE Advanced 2026.

Validity and what next
The score is valid for the admission cycle of that year. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking of results. Legal grievances about the result must be raised within 30 days of declaration. Next steps are JEE Advanced registration if you qualified, and JoSAA/CSAB or state counselling.

Frequently asked questions
Is NTA score the same as marks?
No. It is a percentile that shows what percentage of candidates in your shift scored equal to or less than you.
Can I get my paper re-evaluated?
No. Per the bulletin there is no re-evaluation or re-checking; the only route is the paid answer key challenge before the result.
