JEE Main 2027 Cutoff
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official National Testing Agency notices
JEE Main has two kinds of cutoff: the qualifying percentile for JEE Advanced, and the opening and closing ranks at JoSAA/CSAB. This tab covers the first and explains how to read the second.

| General-PwD | 0.0023186 | 4,391 |
About 2,50,182 candidates qualified in all. The bulletin sets the pool at the top 2,50,000 candidates in the B.E./B.Tech paper.
How the cutoff is used
- It decides only who is eligible to register for JEE Advanced; it does not decide your IIT seat.
- NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats are not limited by this cutoff. Any candidate with an All India Rank who meets the 75% / top 20 percentile Class XII rule can take part in JoSAA.
- The percentile cutoff moves with the difficulty of the paper and the performance of the batch; it is not fixed from year to year.
- If percentiles for multiple shifts differ at the cutoff marks, the lowest becomes the eligibility cutoff for all shifts (Appendix VII).
Reading opening and closing ranks
At JoSAA, each institute and branch publishes an opening rank (best rank admitted) and a closing rank (last rank admitted) per category, quota and round. For NITs, ranks are separate for Home State and Other State quotas, and the female supernumerary seats carry their own ranks. A branch whose closing rank is higher than your rank in a given round has a realistic chance in that category.
Closing ranks differ every year and cannot be derived from the qualifying cutoff. Use the previous year's JoSAA round-wise data, choose a mix of ambitious, reasonable and safe options, and prefer last-round data for safe choices.
No predicted ranks here
This page does not list opening or closing ranks because they depend on the JoSAA data of a specific year, round and category. Refer to the official JoSAA archive.
