Timing and flow

  • The 180 minutes are split. For the first 90 minutes only Physics and Chemistry are enabled. They auto-submit, and Mathematics (PCM) or Biology (PCB) opens for the next 90 minutes.
  • Shifts run 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Gate closes at 8:30 am and 1:30 pm.
  • Questions appear one at a time on the screen.
  • No extra time is given, and candidates cannot leave early or re-enter.

Marking and difficulty

  • There is no negative marking.
  • Each question has four options with one correct answer.
  • The official syllabus note says difficulty is at par with JEE Main for Maths, Physics and Chemistry and at par with NEET for Biology, with mostly application-based questions.
  • Languages are English, Marathi and Urdu for papers. English is final in case of dispute.

Two papers per group in practice

The syllabus note describes three papers of 100 marks each (Maths, Physics and Chemistry, Biology). A PCM candidate writes the Maths and the Physics-Chemistry papers. A PCB candidate writes the Physics-Chemistry and Biology papers.

Frequently asked questions
