CUET UG 2027
Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate), conducted by the National Testing Agency
CUET UG is the NTA test for undergraduate admission to central universities and many other participating universities. For engineering aspirants it matters mostly for B.Sc and other science degrees, because IIT, NIT and IIIT B.Tech seats come through JEE Main and JoSAA, not CUET.

CUET UG 2027 Preparation
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official National Testing Agency notices
Prepare from NCERT, practise on the CBT format, and plan your subject choice around your target universities.
Preparation plan
- 1
Fix your target programmes
List universities and programmes, then note which CUET subjects each accepts.
- 2
Cover NCERT thoroughly
Domain papers are based on NCERT, so read the Class 12 books line by line and solve their exercises.
- 3
Build the General Aptitude Test
Practise arithmetic, reasoning and current affairs for at least a few months.
- 4
Take timed mocks
With 50 questions in 60 minutes, you have little over a minute per question. Practise on a computer screen.
- 5
Review errors
Track wrong answers, because each costs 1 mark.
Tips for PCM students
- JEE Main preparation already covers most of the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics content, but CUET questions are more direct and NCERT based. Revisit NCERT statement-type questions.
- Do not drop CUET entirely if you want a central university B.Sc as a fallback. The cost of up to three papers is low compared with the option value.
- Prepare a language paper as well if your target university requires one.
Because the pattern changed in 2026 (all 50 questions compulsory, fewer subjects), use only material that matches the latest bulletin.
