NTA does not publish a qualifying cut-off. Cut-offs are university and programme specific.
How cut-offs work
Each university sets its own merit method. Delhi University's CSAS system, for example, publishes minimum allocation scores for each programme and category in every round. Other universities publish merit lists on their own portals.
Cut-offs depend on the number of seats, the programme, the accepted subject combination and the number of candidates who applied and scored well. They change year to year, so a previous cut-off is only a rough guide.
What to compare
- Your normalised score in each subject that the university accepts for the programme.
- The weightage rule of the university, for example the best-of subject combination or a Class 12 marks condition.
- Last year's closing scores for the same programme and category, available on the university site.
For B.Sc (Hons) in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics at popular colleges, expect close competition. We have not listed cut-off numbers here because we could not verify them against official university files.
