CUET UG 2027 Eligibility
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official National Testing Agency notices
NTA sets a very open eligibility rule. The real conditions come from the university and programme you apply to.
NTA eligibility
As per the 2026 bulletin, there is no age limit for appearing in CUET UG. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or are appearing in it in 2026, can appear. Candidates must still meet the age criteria, if any, of the university where they want admission.
- Final exam of the 10+2 system from a recognised central or state board, such as CBSE or CISCE.
- Intermediate or two-year pre-university examination from a recognised board or university.
- NIOS Senior Secondary with a minimum of five subjects.
- A diploma of at least 3 years recognised by AICTE or a state board of technical education.
- GCE A level, Cambridge High School Certificate, International Baccalaureate Diploma, or other foreign or AIU/UGC-equivalent qualifications.
University-level conditions
The bulletin states that each university's existing policies on quota, category, relaxation, reservation, qualification, subject combinations and preferences apply. Typical conditions are a minimum aggregate in Class 12, specific Class 12 subjects (for example Physics and Mathematics for some B.Sc programmes) and a cut-off year for passing.
Because of this, a candidate can be eligible to write CUET but not eligible for a given programme. Read the programme eligibility on the university website, and the programme details given in the bulletin appendix, before choosing papers.
