TNEA 2027 Result

Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Directorate of Technical Education notices

TNEA has no exam result. The equivalent is your rank and the allotment result of each counselling round.

How the TNEA rank is calculated

The TNEA aggregate is out of 200 and is based on Class 12 marks: Maths counts in full (100), while Physics and Chemistry are each scaled to 50.

Formula: Maths + (Physics / 2) + (Chemistry / 2). For example, 100 in Maths and 90 in each of Physics and Chemistry gives 100 + 45 + 45 = 190.

Students from boards other than the Tamil Nadu state board are normalised against the highest marks in the reference board. CBSE and ICSE use national highest marks.

Tie-breaking

When two candidates have the same aggregate, the order reported for TNEA is:

  • Higher Maths marks
  • Higher Physics marks
  • Higher optional subject marks
  • Higher total Class 12 percentage
  • Older date of birth
  • Higher 10-digit random number assigned after registration closes

The tie-break order is reported by third-party guides. Confirm it in the official brochure for the current year.

Rank list and grievances

The rank list is published on tneaonline.org (1 July 2026 as per the DoTE schedule). Candidates can view their aggregate, community rank and general rank.

A grievance window followed (1 to 6 July 2026) for mistakes in marks or categories.
