Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA)
TNEA is not an entrance exam. It is the centralised online counselling for B.E./B.Tech seats in Tamil Nadu, and merit is decided purely by Class 12 marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. This hub covers the process, dates, fees, rank calculation, reservation and rounds.

TNEA has no qualifying cutoff other than the minimum marks. College-wise closing marks vary every year, and The official tneaonline.org site is a script-driven portal whose closing-mark lists could not be read from our tools, so no college-wise table is quoted.

Minimum eligibility marks
- OC: 45% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry combined
- BC, BCM, MBC and DNC, SC, SCA, ST: 40%
How to read closing ranks and marks
TNEA publishes allotment lists and later round-wise cutoffs showing the last aggregate mark or rank allotted for each college and branch in each community.
Closing marks are different for OC, BC, MBC and the others, and also fall in later rounds. A branch with a closing rank of 5,000 in Round 1 may stay open into Round 2 for lower ranks only if seats remain.
Use at least two years of data, and check whether the figure is a rank or an aggregate mark before comparing.
