I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) B.Tech admission counselling
IKGPTU does not hold its own entrance test for B.Tech. Under the Punjab Government notification for 2026-27 it runs the online centralised counselling jointly with MRSPTU, and seats go on inter-se merit of the qualifying Class 12 examination. Where your JEE Main score comes from
The merit comes from your Class 12 marks as entered at registration, so match your marksheet exactly. JEE Main results are declared by NTA at jeemain.nta.nic.in; the Punjab Government notification for 2026-27 does not use JEE Main for IKGPTU B.Tech counselling.
How seats are split (2026-27)
The combined IKGPTU and MRSPTU seat matrix lists, for every branch, the Punjab State quota (85 percent) with sub-quotas for general, SC/ST, backward classes, persons with disabilities, sports, freedom fighters, border and backward areas and others, the Other State quota (15 percent) and Tuition Fee Waiver seats. Counselling for both quotas runs simultaneously. For lateral entry, merit uses diploma marks through a separate schedule.
- Check your name, category and quota in the tentative merit list and raise errors inside the stated window.
- Keep the allotment letter and fee receipt, since colleges ask for them at reporting.
