I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) B.Tech admission counselling
IKGPTU does not hold its own entrance test for B.Tech. Under the Punjab Government notification for 2026-27 it runs the online centralised counselling jointly with MRSPTU, and seats go on inter-se merit of the qualifying Class 12 examination. Download the admission notice and prospectus from ptu.ac.in.

Register online
Create an account and fill personal, academic and category details.

Pay the fee
Pay the Rs 2,000 non-refundable counselling fee. Candidates who already paid on admissions.ptu.ac.in need not pay again.

Upload documents
Upload the scorecard, marksheets and category and residence proofs.

Check the merit list
Look for errors and raise them within the window.
Documents
- JEE Main scorecard, only if a college or scheme asks for it.
- Class 10 certificate for date of birth, and Class 12 marksheet.
- Category certificate if applicable.
- Residence certificate for the Punjab quota.
- Migration and character certificates if required.
- Passport size photographs.
Fee note
The IKGPTU fee notification for affiliated and autonomous colleges (2026-27) shows B.Tech tuition fee of Rs 30,000 per semester. First semester total is Rs 47,900 (including the Rs 2,000 counselling fee) and later semesters Rs 44,300, giving Rs 92,200 for year 1 and Rs 88,600 for later years. Fees at university campuses and private colleges outside this notification can differ, so check your college. Tuition Fee Waiver seats exist for B.Tech, BCA and B.Pharmacy for Punjab residents with annual family income below Rs 8 lakh. If you change seat during counselling, the previous institute deducts Rs 1,000 only; no deduction applies for upgradation.
