What to do

- Register early and check the portal every day during counselling.
- Study previous year vacancy lists to choose realistic colleges.
Timeline for a Puducherry candidate
- 1
Before results
Apply for nativity and community certificates in advance so that they are valid in May.
- 2
After Class 12 results
Register as soon as the brochure is out, as the 2026 window opened on 14 May and closed about two weeks later.
- 3
Merit list stage
Check the draft list the day it appears and file objections inside the window.
- 4
Counselling
Prepare a ranked choice list of colleges and branches before the round opens, then monitor every round including mop-up and stray rounds.
Back-up options
Other-state candidates should keep JoSAA and CSAB active, since Puducherry Technological University All India seats are filled there, and consider TNEA or other state counselling as a fall-back. Write JEE Main in both sessions to give the best score.
