UPESEAT 2027 Preparation
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official University of Petroleum and Energy Studies notices
UPESEAT tests Class 12 level concepts with speed. The plan below is built on 125 questions in 2 hours, with 35 each in three science or maths sections and 20 in English.
Preparation tips
- Revise NCERT and board level Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
- Practise 125 question timed sets in 120 minutes.
- Use the demo test to learn the interface.
- Prepare English comprehension; the 20 questions are easy marks.
Strategy
Plan roughly 40 minutes for Maths, 30 for Physics, 30 for Chemistry and 15 for English, leaving a small buffer for review. The official Candidate Guide confirms there is no negative marking, so attempt everything.
Weekly routine
- Weeks 1 to 4: finish Class 11 and 12 NCERT in Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology, with 35 solved questions per subject each week.
- Weeks 5 to 8: take two full 125 question timed mocks a week on a laptop, copying the 10 am to 2 pm online setup.
- English: 20 questions of comprehension, grammar and vocabulary; read one passage a day, as these are the fastest marks.
- Last fortnight: revise formula sheets and organic reactions and repeat the demo test to check the webcam and internet.
Back-up plan
UPES also takes JEE Main, SAT, board merit and CUET-UG, so keep JEE Main preparation going and apply in an early phase. If a later phase is available, use the first as practice and retake only if your mock scores improve.
