Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)
VITEEE is VIT's own entrance test for B.Tech admission at its Vellore, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal campuses. The 2026 paper had 125 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes, with +4 for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong one.

VIT runs its own online counselling after VITEEE. It is not JoSAA, and the same rank covers all four campuses.
Process

Check rank and register
Use the portal to see your rank and register for counselling in the window VIT announces.

Choose campus, programme and fee category
Select options based on your rank. Allotment depends on rank and seat availability.

Pay fees and confirm
Pay the tuition for your allotted category and complete the formalities.

Verification
Provisional admission is valid only when your eligibility is confirmed. Bring the original Class 10 certificate for age proof.

Source: VIT UG fee structure page for 2026-27. Category 0 shows zero tuition (a full scholarship). The page states a one-time refundable caution deposit of Rs 5,000, while the Group B section lists Rs 3,000, so confirm the figure in the offer letter. Bhopal Group B is listed at Rs 1,98,000 after concession. We could not verify which rank band maps to each category.
Rules to remember
- Application and counselling fees are non-refundable.
- Branch, campus and category changes are not allowed after allotment.
- The VIT page we read lists only a Rs 10,000 GVSD scholarship for students who completed Class 12 in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur or Tiruvannamalai districts; other scholarship details were not on that page.
