Two attempts

SIT runs two test dates. You can appear in both, and the better score is used for merit.

Timing and per-question budget

In 2026 both tests ran from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. With 60 questions in 60 minutes you have one minute per question. Because Mathematics is reported at 30 of the 60 questions, a sensible split is about 30 minutes for Mathematics and 15 each for Physics and Chemistry.

Rank card validity

Shiksha reports that the rank card is valid for one academic year only, so a 2026 score cannot be carried into the 2027 cycle. Reports also say the 2026 paper had 60 questions for 120 marks with no negative marking, which agrees with the table above.
