KIITEE 2027 Preparation

Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha notices

KIITEE is a PCM objective test, so preparation looks like other engineering entrance tests.

Preparation tips

  • Practise computer based mocks with a 3 hour timer.
  • Aim for accuracy because each wrong answer costs 1 mark.
  • Class 11 and 12 NCERT plus solved JEE Main level problems are enough for most questions.
  • Use the multiple phases wisely: a first phase is a rehearsal if you later plan another.

Plan

  1. 1

    Fix your phase

Choose a phase that gives you at least three months after your board exams.

  2. 2

    Cover the syllabus

Finish all chapters once, then revise.

  3. 3

    Test your setup

For a proctored exam, check your device and internet beforehand.

Subject-wise focus

The paper has 40 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, so every subject carries equal weight at 160 marks. Mathematics usually takes the longest per question, so practise it under time. Chemistry is the quickest to score if NCERT facts and organic reactions are revised, which leaves more time for the other two.

  • Mathematics: calculus, algebra and coordinate geometry give the bulk of questions; do daily timed sets.
  • Physics: formula-based mechanics and electricity first, then optics and modern physics.
  • Chemistry: solve numericals in physical chemistry and memorise periodic trends and named reactions.

Phase strategy and mistakes to avoid

Because the best score across phases is used (as reported), treat an early phase as a full dress rehearsal and review the rank card before the next one. Take one full 3 hour mock each week, and spend the following day analysing wrong answers. With +4 and -1 marking, skip a question when you cannot narrow it to two options. Keep JEE Main as a back-up, since KIIT considers it in some years, and compare with state counselling options as well.
