JCECE 2027 Eligibility
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board notices
Eligibility as printed in the JCECEB notice of 23 June 2026.
Educational criteria
The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and one of the other subjects listed in AICTE Table 8.4 (such as Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Biology, Biotechnology, Informatics Practices, a technical vocational subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies or Entrepreneurship), with at least 45 percent marks in the subjects taken together, or 40 percent for reserved category candidates. A pass in the D.Voc stream in the same or allied sector is also accepted. This follows the AICTE Approval Process Handbook 2024-25 to 2026-27.
A valid JEE Main 2026 rank is the basis for the merit list. Some third-party sites state different marks and an age limit, but the notice does not list an age limit.
Residential criteria
The candidate must be a citizen of India and a Local or Permanent resident of Jharkhand, as defined in the state government order of 18 April 2016. A local resident certificate in the proper format is required from the Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner.
Reservation
- The current reservation policy of Jharkhand applies for caste based reservation.
- Separate provisions exist for EWS, persons with disabilities, service man quota and primitive tribal groups.
- 5 percent supernumerary seats under the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme for income up to Rs 8 lakh.
- Reserved category candidates must produce the original caste certificate at admission.
Medical fitness
Third-party sites mention a medical fitness check by the allotted institute. Check the counselling notice for the exact requirement.
