GITAM GAT 2027 Preparation

Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official GITAM notices

Prepare class 12 level PCM and logical reasoning.

Plan

  • Revise NCERT physics, chemistry and mathematics.
  • Practise reasoning sets with a timer.
  • Take sample papers from the GAT portal.
  • Use the first phase as a practice test if later phases are open.

Section-wise strategy

The B.Tech paper is reported as 100 questions for 200 marks in 120 to 150 minutes (portals differ), so you have roughly 72 to 90 seconds per question. The Critical Thinking section is 40 questions and 80 marks, which is 40 percent of the paper, so it deserves daily practice: seating arrangements, blood relations, coding-decoding, series and data sufficiency. The PCM section has 60 questions and 120 marks, where Class 11 and 12 NCERT basics are enough to score well.

Phase and scholarship plan

Scholarship slabs are based on rank (as reported), and the best rank across phases is used, so sit an early phase, check your rank, then retake in a later phase if you want a better slab. Keep JEE Main, KCET or COMEDK UGET as back-ups, since GITAM Bengaluru is reported to accept them. Take a weekly full mock of 100 questions and review every wrong answer.

Test day

  • Attempt all questions as there is no negative marking.
  • Check the system setup a day before for remote tests.
