GITAM GAT 2027 Exam Pattern
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official GITAM notices
The B.Tech paper as reported by education portals. GITAM can change it, so check the exam notification.
B.Tech paper structure
The paper is reported to carry 100 objective questions for 200 marks, with two marks per correct answer in the combined structure and no negative marking. Portals describe two sections: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving with 40 questions, and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60 questions. Time is reported as 150 minutes in some places and 120 in others.
An older description with 40 maths and 30 questions each in physics and chemistry, four marks for a right answer and a deduction for a wrong one is probably from a previous format.
| Section | Questions (reported) | Marks (reported) |
|---|---|---|
| Critical Thinking and Problem Solving | 40 | 80 |
| Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics | 60 | 120 |
| Total | 100 | 200 |
Verify the final pattern and time on the GAT notification.
Tips
- With no negative marking, attempt every question.
- Practise the critical thinking section; it is a quarter of the questions by count.
- Take one proctored mock to check your system and internet if you choose the remote option.
