CSAB 2027 Preparation

Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Central Seat Allocation Board notices

Prepare before the vacancy list appears; the registration window is short.

Before registration

  • Keep scanned documents ready, including category certificates issued in the required period.
  • Check which JoSAA seats you hold and decide whether you are willing to lose them.
  • Arrange the fee: the enrolment fee is paid at registration, before you know your seat.

Choice filling

Fresh choices must be filled against the vacancies shown on your portal, not your JoSAA list. Use the mock allocation to see the likely result and add safe choices at the end. Review the vacancy list for branch and institute together.

Decide in advance

  • Which institute and branch you will accept as a final seat.
  • Whether to Float, Slide or Freeze in Round 1.
  • Your fallback if no seat is allotted: institute-level counselling, state counselling or private universities.
