SAAT is a multiple choice test. Third-party figures for B.Tech differ, so the table shows what most sources agree on.
Paper format
The SOA site calls SAAT primarily a multiple choice type test at a standard comparable to other national-level entrance tests. Most aggregator sites say the B.Tech paper is a computer-based test with 120 questions, 40 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, at the 10+2 level, in English.
| Item | What sources report |
|---|---|
| Mode | Computer-based test |
| Subjects | Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics |
| Questions | 120 MCQs, 40 per subject |
| Marking | Most sources: 1 mark each, no negative marking. Some pages say +4 and -1 |
| Duration | Sources say 2 hours or 3 hours |
| Language | English |
Marking scheme and duration are conflicting across third-party sites. Verify them in the official SAAT brochure.
How to treat the conflict
Because the marking and time are not consistent, do not plan only for a negative-marking-free paper. Practise accuracy as if wrong answers may cost marks, and finish the paper within two hours to be safe.
