Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Siksha 'O' Anusandhan notices
Eligibility differs by programme. The summary below is the SOA 2026 batch B.Tech rule; confirm for the 2027 batch.
B.Tech eligibility
Per the SOA Engineering and Technology eligibility page (admission batch 2026 onwards): pass 10+2 with at least 60% marks (55% for SC, ST and OBC) and at least 50% (45% for SC, ST and OBC) in the subject group. CSE and its AIML, Cyber Security, Data Science and IoT variants and CSIT need Physics and Mathematics plus one of Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, a technical vocational subject, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies or Entrepreneurship. EEE, ECE, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical need Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Confirm for 2027 when SOA publishes the new batch page.
Lateral entry
The SOA site says candidates with a diploma in engineering and technology, pharmacy or hotel management can apply for regular courses through SAAT. Such candidates usually enter the second year of the degree; confirm the exact entry year in the brochure.
Other points
- Only one SAAT attempt is allowed per programme.
- The SOA SAAT 2026 results page lists B.Tech (Lateral Entry) among the SAAT results but not first-year B.Tech, while the site carries a JEE Main admission route and B.Tech spot and stray vacancy notices. Confirm on admission.soa.ac.in which route fills first-year B.Tech seats before relying on SAAT.
- MBBS, BDS, MD/MS and MDS need NEET, not SAAT.
- Age limits and nationality rules are in the brochure and are not repeated here.
