NATA 2027 Eligibility
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Council of Architecture notices
Eligibility to take NATA is wider than eligibility to take admission. Both are set out in the 2026 brochure.
Who can appear
The brochure states that qualifying NATA does not give any right to admission unless the candidate meets all eligibility requirements of the admission authority.
- Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 examination with the subjects listed below.
- Candidates who have passed or are appearing in a 10+3 diploma examination with Mathematics as a subject.
Eligibility for admission to B.Arch
Under Regulation 4(1) of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations 2020, a candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biology, a technical vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies, with at least 45 percent marks in aggregate.
A 10+3 diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and at least 45 percent marks in aggregate is also accepted.
Age, reservation and score rules
- The brochure does not state an upper age limit for NATA.
- Reservation follows the rules of the state or UT and the counselling authority; it is outside the scope of the test.
- A valid NATA 2025 score stays usable in 2026-27 only if you have not taken admission on it and have not taken two attempts in NATA 2026.
- If you take both Phase 1 attempts in 2026, your NATA 2025 score becomes invalid. Taking one Phase 1 attempt or one Phase 2 attempt also replaces it with the 2026 result.
- A NATA 2025 score is invalid for candidates who already took B.Arch admission on it.
Check the college rules too
Some states and colleges add their own conditions such as minimum NATA score, Class 12 marks weightage or domicile. Read the counselling authority's notice for your target state.
