MET 2027 Preparation

Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Manipal Academy of Higher Education notices

MET rewards speed and accuracy across Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The plan below is built from the 60 question, 240 mark, 120 minute pattern.

Tips

  • Mathematics carries 80 of 240 marks, so keep it as your main subject.
  • Practise numerical answer questions; they have no negative marking, so always attempt them.
  • Attempt MCQs only when you are reasonably sure, since each wrong answer costs 1 mark.
  • Take full length timed mocks of 120 minutes.
  • Use Class 11 and 12 NCERT as the base.

Study plan by marks

SubjectMarksFocus
Mathematics80Algebra, calculus and coordinate geometry; 5 numerical questions
Physics60Mechanics, electricity and modern physics; 5 numerical questions
Chemistry60Physical chemistry numericals, then organic reactions
English40Grammar and comprehension; 10 quick MCQs

Marks follow the reported pattern with 4 marks per question.

Time and revision routine

  • Two minutes per question on average. Clear English first (about 10 minutes), then Mathematics, then Physics and Chemistry.
  • Take one full 120 minute CBT mock every week in the last two months and review every wrong MCQ, since each costs 1 mark.
  • Practise typing numerical answers to the required decimal places; there is no negative marking there.
  • Keep JEE Main preparation going: it overlaps heavily, and Manipal reportedly also admits on JEE Main rank.

Use both phases

Candidates could attend a second phase to improve their score in 2026. Use the first attempt to learn the interface and timing, and fix weak areas before the next.
