Manipur B.Tech Admission 2027 Preparation
Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Manipur Technical University notices
Prepare for JEE Main first; keep the MTU test as a backup.
Plan
- 1
Write JEE Main
A score card gives you preference at MTU and also opens JoSAA and CSAB.
- 2
Prepare Class 11 and 12 basics
Maths, Physics and Chemistry are 80 of the 100 test marks.
- 3
Practise English
English carries 20 marks and is easy to score if you revise grammar and comprehension.
- 4
Watch the notice
Apply early; the 2026 JEE window was only two weeks.
Study split for the MTU test
Mathematics and Physics are 60 of 100 marks, so give them about 60 percent of your time: solve NCERT examples and basic numericals chapter by chapter, with timed sets of 30 questions. Chemistry (20 marks) can be covered through NCERT notes on mole concept, bonding and basic organic chemistry. English (20 marks) needs 15 minutes daily on grammar, vocabulary and one comprehension passage. In the last two weeks, take full 100 mark mixed mock tests.
Back-up options
- Keep JEE Main as your main attempt; the JEE track at MTU closed within about two weeks in 2026.
- Register for JoSAA and CSAB if you want NIT Manipur or IIIT Manipur.
- Consider other state counselling or private university options in case the MTU seats do not suit you.
Common mistakes
- Missing the JEE track deadline and ending up in the entrance test track.
- Not carrying the original documents on admission day.
- Assuming MTU admission covers NIT Manipur or IIIT Manipur; it does not.
