Updated on 18 October 2026 · Compiled from official Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board notices
GUJCET is a single-day offline test with objective questions.
Paper structure
| Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | 40 | 40 |
| Chemistry | 40 | 40 |
| Mathematics or Biology | 40 | 40 |
| Total | 120 | 120 |
Per the 2026 GSEB booklet: Physics and Chemistry are one combined paper of 80 questions in 120 minutes; Biology and Mathematics are separate 40 question papers of 60 minutes each, with separate OMR sheets.
Marking and language
- Each correct answer gets 1 mark.
- Per the GSEB booklet, 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. One mark is deducted if two or more options are marked for a question, and unattempted questions score nothing.
- The paper is offered in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
- Answers are marked on an OMR sheet, and OMR copies can be requested after the result.
How to handle the paper
Since Maths or Biology has its own slot, plan the first slot for Physics and Chemistry as a block of about 80 questions. Attempt questions you are sure of first, and guess only when you can eliminate options, because of the negative marking.
