Eligibility conditions

  • Permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir with a domicile or PRC.
  • Passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Minimum marks reported as 50% for Open Merit and some special categories (children of defence, paramilitary and police personnel, and outstanding sportspersons), and 40% for SC, ST and socially and educationally backward classes. A few sites quote 45%, so confirm in the brochure.
  • Minimum age 17 years on 31 December of the exam year; no upper age limit (reported).

Who can sit

Candidates appearing in Class 12 can apply, but admission depends on passing with the required marks. A rank in JKCET alone does not guarantee a seat; documents are verified at counselling.
