JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Day Guidelines

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 has already concluded. This page explains the general exam-day guidelines followed, as a reference for JEE Main 2027 aspirants.

This Is Archive Information

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 was conducted in April 2026 and has already concluded. This page describes the general exam-day guideline pattern, not a definitive rulebook for a future session. JEE Main 2027 aspirants must check the official information bulletin and their admit card for confirmed rules.

Reporting & Verification

Candidates were generally required to reach their allotted exam center well ahead of the shift's start time — commonly 60 to 90 minutes early — to complete frisking, biometric/ID verification, and seat allocation before the test began. Late arrival past the gate-closing time has historically resulted in candidates being denied entry.

Each candidate needed to carry their admit card printout along with one valid original photo ID proof for verification at the center, as specified in the information bulletin.

Items Allowed vs Not Allowed

  • Textual material, notes, paper
  • Metallic items (jewelry, belts, coins)

A basic transparent/see-through ballpoint pen was often provided or allowed at the center itself.
3
What items were prohibited in the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam hall?
Prohibited items typically included mobile phones, smartwatches and wearables, calculators, geometry/pencil boxes, textual material or notes, metallic items like jewelry and belts with metal buckles, and any unauthorized electronic gadgets.

Was there a dress code for JEE Main 2026 Session 2?
Yes — NTA has followed a general dress code recommending light, simple clothing without large metal items, along with footwear guidance. See our dedicated JEE Main Session 2 dress code reference page for details.
5
Will JEE Main 2027 exam day guidelines be the same?
The broad structure (early reporting, ID verification, restricted items) tends to remain fairly consistent, but exact timings and specific rules can be revised by NTA each cycle. Always check the official information bulletin and admit card instructions for the relevant year and session.
