JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin — What It Contains and How to Read It

The bulletin is the single authoritative document for the cycle. Here is what to expect inside it, where to get it and what to check first.

Why the Bulletin Matters More Than Any Article

The Information Bulletin is NTA's complete statement of how a JEE Main cycle will run. Every fee, deadline, eligibility condition and file specification that a candidate is held to comes from it. News articles, YouTube videos and coaching pages summarise it, sometimes accurately and sometimes not. During the 2026 cycle, for example, different websites printed different figures for some fee categories.

As of mid-October 2026, the JEE Main 2027 bulletin has not been released. When it appears, it will be on jeemain.nta.nic.in, and it is usually accompanied by the opening of Session 1 registration. Our JEE Main 2027 registration guide lists what is known so far and will point you to the right detailed pages once the document is out.

Map of the 2026 Bulletin: Section and Para Numbers

NTA's 2026 FAQ repeatedly sends candidates to specific paragraphs. This map, taken from the table of contents of the JEE (Main) 2026 Information Bulletin (published 31 October 2025, 90 pages), lets you jump straight to the part that answers your question. Numbers are for the 2026 edition only; check the contents page of the 2027 edition before relying on them.

The 2026 Fee Table, as Printed in the Bulletin

Secondary sites disagreed on several of these figures in 2026, so here is the table from the bulletin itself (Dates at a Glance, item 2). Amounts are in rupees per session. This is the 2026 cycle; no 2027 fee has been announced.

Where to Download It

Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and look for the Information Bulletin link on the home page, or for the public notices section. NTA has also published a Frequently Asked Questions PDF (42 questions in 2026, dated 19 November 2025 in its file properties) in the 2026 cycle, which is worth downloading as well because it answers practical questions about APAAR ID, verification and fees in plain language. The 2026 bulletin and FAQ were hosted as PDFs on NTA's government CDN and linked from jeemain.nta.nic.in. The helpline printed in the 2026 documents was 011-40759000 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM per the bulletin), with the email jeemain@nta.ac.in; the FAQ also listed 011-69227700.

Type the address yourself rather than following links forwarded on messaging apps. The file is a large PDF, so save a copy on your phone and one on a laptop. If you find that the document you downloaded is dated for a previous cycle, check the year in the title before you rely on it.

How to Read the Bulletin: A First-Hour Checklist

  • Confirm the cycle name on the cover, so you know it is for JEE Main 2027 and not an older year.
  • Note the registration opening, closing and fee payment times, then compare with our notes on the registration last date.
  • Read the eligibility section line by line, especially the conditions about Class 12 year and any attempt limits.
  • Find the fee table and locate your own row by category, gender, paper and exam centre country.
  • Open the image and document specifications and test your scanned files against them.
  • Read the new or changed items. If APAAR, Aadhaar or live photo steps are mentioned, note whether they are marked mandatory or optional.
  • Check the Paper 2 provisions if you are considering B.Arch or B.Planning.
  • Read the provisions for your reservation category or disability, if any.

Once you have done this, move to the step-by-step application form guide and fill the form with the bulletin open alongside.

What Changed in the Last Bulletin

The JEE Main 2026 bulletin itself confirms a live photograph captured during form filling, disability details verified against the UDID portal, and Aadhaar or DigiLocker based identity verification. NTA's official FAQ for that cycle said APAAR ID was not mandatory, that a name mismatch between the Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar would not affect candidature, and that DigiLocker documents are valid. Media also reported a revised exam centre list; we have not compared the centre lists. For eligibility, the 2026 bulletin allowed candidates who passed Class XII in 2024 or 2025 or were appearing in 2026, with no age limit. We summarise these points to show the type of change to look for, not to predict 2027. The running list lives on our application form changes page.

Fee information also sits in the bulletin, and the fee is paid online with service charges payable on top, according to the 2026 FAQ. If your payment fails, our page on failed payments and refunds explains the safest next steps.

Pitfalls When Using the Bulletin

Do not skim only the dates. Candidates lose seats of opportunity through avoidable details: an unacceptable image format, a category certificate that does not match the stated format, or choosing the wrong paper. Candidates applying for B.Arch or B.Planning should read the Paper 2 registration page alongside the bulletin.

Two 2026 rules are worth checking again in the new edition because they trip up many candidates. The state code of eligibility depends on where you passed Class XII, not on your home address (para 3.4; see the state code guide), and the exam city choices are limited to the state of your present or permanent address, up to four in order of preference (para 5.1; see exam city choice). On identity documents, read the APAAR ID and Aadhaar page.

Also remember that the bulletin may be amended through later public notices on the website. If you have a query the bulletin does not answer, use the contact and helpdesk details published on the official site, and see our guide on the JEE Main helpline and grievance process. For timing, read the registration last date and exam dates pages.

JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin – FAQs

Common questions about the NTA bulletin for JEE Main 2027

1
Has the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin been released?
No. As of mid-October 2026 NTA has not published the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin. It normally appears on jeemain.nta.nic.in at or shortly before the opening of Session 1 registration, so it is worth checking the site regularly.
2
Where can I download the JEE Main 2027 bulletin?
From the official JEE Main website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, usually through a link on the home page or in the public notices and information bulletin section. Download it only from the NTA site; copies hosted elsewhere may be outdated or altered.
3
What does the Information Bulletin contain?
It is the rulebook for the cycle. The 2026 edition was a 90-page PDF with an Important Information and Dates at a Glance section (dates, fee table, application procedure), five chapters (Introduction, Examination Scheme, Eligibility and Qualification, Reservations, Conduct of Examination) and nine appendices, including the list of examination cities, the normalisation procedure, CBT details and a replica of the online application form. The 2027 edition may be organised differently.
4
Is the bulletin the same as the registration notification?
They are related but different. The notification or public notice is a short announcement that registration is open. The bulletin is the long, detailed document that tells you the rules. If a news article and the bulletin disagree, the bulletin wins.
5
Does the bulletin change every year?
Yes, in parts. Each cycle reworks the dates, fee table and some form requirements. The 2026 bulletin required a live photograph at the time of filling the form and verification of identity through Aadhaar or DigiLocker (or an uploaded ID), and NTA's 2026 FAQ said APAAR ID was not mandatory. Media coverage also reported changes to the exam centre list, which we could not verify. Do not assume 2026 rules carry over.
6
Which part of the bulletin should I read first?
Start with the important dates and information summary, then eligibility, then the fee table and the image and document specifications. After that, read the instructions for filling the form and the reservation and disability provisions that apply to you.
7
Will NTA release separate bulletins for Session 1 and Session 2?
In the 2026 cycle a single Information Bulletin covered both sessions. It stated that the Session 2 application window would be opened as per the bulletin and notified separately through a public notice, and that the same application number would be used for both sessions. For 2027, confirm in the bulletin and in the later public notices.
8
What if the bulletin and a coaching website give different details?
Follow the bulletin. Aggregator sites disagreed on some fee figures during the 2026 cycle (for example on the male OBC-NCL figure, which the official bulletin gives as 900 rupees for one paper at Indian centres), which is exactly why the primary document matters.
