JEE Main 2027 Notification — Expected Date & What to Expect
NTA has not released the official JEE Main 2027 notification yet. Here's the realistic expected timeline based on the last three cycles, and what to do while you wait.
Official status: As of this writing (September 2026), NTA has not released the JEE Main 2027 notification, bulletin, or confirmed exam dates. Everything below is a projection based on historical release patterns — not an official announcement.
Why the Notification Is Expected in Late October / Early November
NTA has followed a consistent release pattern for the last several cycles. The JEE Main 2026 Information Bulletin was released on October 31, 2025, and the JEE Main 2025 Bulletin came out on October 28, 2024 — both in the final week of October, roughly three months before the Session 1 exam itself (which has consistently landed in the last week of January).
Applying that same gap to JEE Main 2027, if Session 1 is held in the last week of January 2027 (as expected, consistent with 2025 and 2026), the notification would logically arrive in late October or the first few days of November 2026. This is a pattern-based projection, not a confirmed date — NTA can and occasionally does shift release timing.

What the Notification Will Contain
When released, the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin will specify: exact Session 1 and Session 2 exam dates, the registration window for each session, the application fee structure (varying by category and number of papers/sessions), detailed eligibility criteria (qualifying exam year, required subjects, number of permitted attempts), the exam pattern and marking scheme, syllabus details or a reference PDF, the exam city/center allocation process, and the full application procedure including required document uploads (photograph, signature, category certificates where applicable).
Historically, none of these have changed drastically year to year — the syllabus was last significantly revised in 2023, and the pre-pandemic exam pattern (all questions compulsory, no optional Section B choices) has been in place since 2025. So while the notification is procedurally essential (it's the only source of the actual confirmed dates), the underlying structure of the exam is unlikely to surprise anyone already familiar with the 2025/2026 pattern.
What to Do While Waiting
- Don't pause preparation. The syllabus and pattern are expected to remain stable — prepare using the current JEE Main 2026 syllabus as your baseline.
- Keep required documents ready — Class 12 marksheet/certificate, category certificates, a recent photograph, and signature scan in the standard formats NTA typically requires.
- Verify only from jeemain.nta.nic.in. Third-party "leaked date" posts are frequently wrong or outdated — treat any date not sourced from the official NTA portal as unconfirmed.
- Plan your attempt strategy now. Decide whether you'll appear in both Session 1 and Session 2 (best-of-two scoring applies) — see our Session 1 vs Session 2 guide.
