JEE Main 2027 Registration Last Date — Expected Deadline Pattern
No closing date exists yet. Here is how deadlines behaved in the last two cycles, what an extension really means, and how to stay clear of the cut-off.
Status: There Is No Official Last Date Yet
A registration deadline can only exist once the window opens, and as of mid-October 2026 NTA has not opened JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration. The closing date will be printed in the Information Bulletin and on the home page of jeemain.nta.nic.in. Websites that already list a firm 2027 last date are guessing.
What we can do is read the pattern. Two recent cycles are enough to see how NTA schedules the window, and the reported January 2027 exam schedule (see our JEE Main 2027 exam dates page) fits the same rhythm. The wider process is explained in the complete JEE Main 2027 registration guide.
Deadline Pattern from Past Cycles
| Item | 2025 cycle | 2026 cycle |
|---|---|---|
| Session 1 opened | 28 Oct 2024 | 31 Oct 2025 |
| Session 1 last date | 22 Nov 2024 | 27 Nov 2025 |
| Window length | About 26 days | About 28 days |
| Closing time | Reported as 9 PM IST | 9:00 PM for the form; fee until 11:50 PM (official bulletin) |
| Extended? | No; NTA reportedly said no extension | No; reported that NTA reaffirmed the date |
| Correction window | 26-27 Nov 2024 (reported) | 1-2 Dec 2025 (reported; bulletin said dates would be shown on the NTA website) |
| Session 1 exams | 22-31 Jan 2025 (reported) | 21-30 Jan 2026 (official bulletin window) |
2025-cycle dates are from news coverage of NTA notices. 2026-cycle opening, closing, fee-deadline and exam-window entries are from the official Information Bulletin 2026. Window lengths are our own arithmetic, counting both the first and last day.

Source: JEE (Main) 2026 Information Bulletin, Important Information and Dates at a Glance, items 1 and 2. The actual Session 2 application dates were announced separately; media reports put them at 1 to 25 February 2026, which we could not confirm from an NTA document.
Form Deadline Versus Fee Deadline
The 2026 bulletin printed two separate cut-offs for Session 1: the application form could be submitted until 9:00 PM on 27 November 2025, while the last date for a successful transaction of the prescribed fee ran until 11:50 PM that day. In practice the form has three steps (registration, application form, fee payment), and the bulletin states that the Confirmation Page of the online form is generated only after successful payment.
The bulletin also says that if the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment, the transaction is treated as cancelled and the candidate has to approach the bank for a refund, and has to make another payment. Any such multiple payments were to be reconciled by NTA after the declaration of the final result and refunded. A failure at 11 PM on the last day therefore leaves almost no room for a retry. The full process is in our failed payment and refund guide.
Fee payment is online only, through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI, and the 2026 bulletin listed payment through gateways of ICICI, HDFC, Canara and SBI banks. Processing charges and GST were payable by the candidate on top of the examination fee.
Rules That Interact With the Deadline
- One application only: the 2026 bulletin states that a candidate cannot fill more than one application form, that multiple forms lead to cancellation of the result, and that strict action, treated as unfair means, can follow even at a later stage.
- Same application number for both sessions: in 2026 the number generated at registration was used for both sessions, and a Session 2 candidate logged in and paid the Session 2 fee in that session's window.
- Separate application for each session: NTA's 2026 FAQ (question 4) said candidates had to apply separately for each session, with the Session 2 date announced later.
- Late joiners: the 2026 FAQ (question 5) said a candidate who missed the January session could fill the form for the April session when that portal opened.
- No withdrawal: a successfully submitted form cannot be cancelled or withdrawn (FAQ question 30).
- Nothing to send to NTA: no documents or Confirmation Page need to be posted, faxed, couriered or sent through WhatsApp or email (FAQ question 26).
- One-time correction: only selected fields can be corrected in a single correction facility (FAQ question 29), and the dates are displayed on the NTA website.
- Record retention: the 2026 bulletin advised keeping soft and hard copies of the Confirmation Page, admit card and scorecard because they would not be available after 31 July 2026.
All of these are 2026-cycle rules. The 2027 bulletin may keep, change or drop any of them, so compare it against this list when it appears. Our registration mistakes guide and the helpline page cover what to do if something goes wrong near the deadline.

So When Might the 2027 Deadline Fall?
If the window opens in late October or early November 2026 and runs for roughly four weeks, the deadline would land in the final week of November or early December 2026. This is the same slot that both earlier cycles used, and it leaves about eight weeks before a late-January exam. It is a reasoned expectation, not a date, and a later opening would push everything back.
Do not treat the last date as your target. Treat the opening date as your target, and aim to submit within the first ten days.
Extension History: Do Not Count on One
News coverage of the 2025 and 2026 Session 1 windows records NTA stating that no further extension would be provided, and neither deadline moved. Extensions have occurred in earlier years: the JEE Main 2022 Session 1 registration was extended to 5 April 2022, and the 2021 multi-session format saw similar last-day extensions. Those years were disrupted by the pandemic and by schedule changes, so they are a weak guide to a normal cycle.
Even when an extension arrives, it is typically announced on the final day or just after, which means a candidate who planned around it is gambling with a whole session. Since NTA moved to a two-session system, missing Session 1 is not fatal, but it costs you a chance. Our comparison of Session 1 registration versus Session 2 explains what you would be giving up.
What Happens After the Last Date
- The online form and payment links are switched off for that session. No offline or email submission has been accepted.
- Incomplete applications, including those with failed or pending payment, are not processed for that session.
- A short correction window usually follows within a few days, restricted to certain fields.
- Exam city slips are released roughly a few weeks before the exam, based on the preferences you filled.
- If you missed the window, the next opportunity is the Session 2 registration, announced by NTA after Session 1 activity.
Because the correction window is short and limited, read the correction window guide before you submit, not after.
A Simple Plan to Avoid Missing the Deadline
- Check jeemain.nta.nic.in twice a week from now. Set a phone reminder for 25 October and again for 1 November.
- On the day the Information Bulletin appears, read the dates box first and write the exact closing date and time in your calendar. Our note on the Information Bulletin shows what to check first.
- Prepare the scanned photograph, signature and certificates in advance so the form can be filled in one sitting, following the step-by-step guide.
- Set yourself an internal deadline of seven days after opening, and share it with a parent who can double-check the entries.
- Pay early in the day using a method with a good success record. If a transaction fails, follow the advice on failed payments and refunds instead of paying repeatedly.
- Save the confirmation page and the application number the moment you finish.
